I'm Laura Thornton ~ Director of Operations for Sharon Walters Travel . Growing up with a diverse background, I have had the privilege of residing in various cities across Texas, as well as in Hawaii, Virginia, Louisiana, and California. This early exposure to travel opened the door to exploring more than half of the United States, along with Mexico and Canada, sparking a profound passion within me for uncovering new destinations.

The fusion of my organizational zeal and my love for travel became the driving force that led me to a pivotal role in supporting Sharon with the day-to-day functions of our thriving travel business. Backed by my extensive journeys and an unwavering commitment to streamlined operations, I am wholeheartedly prepared to contribute to the company's triumphs and to ensure our clients embark on unforgettable travel escapades.

Rachel Perkins Profile

Travel Concierge

Born and raised in the South, but residing in San Diego, Rachel has spent most of her career in the sports and entertainment industries. With the Atlanta Braves and a few of the most well-known sports and entertainment agencies among her resume including WME - Endeavor (previously IMG) and Creative Artists Agency (CAA), she realized her strong passion for helping athletes learn the life skills necessary for success outside of the field, court, or stage they have built their brand upon. Her work ethic and extensive trust among clients led to an incredible opportunity to start her own company, PERKS Lifestyle Management, in which she assists clients with day-to-day needs as well as personal and professional development in all aspects of their lives.

Rachel’s clients range from professional athletes to world-famous musicians, meaning no two days are ever the same. Her typical “day in the office” can include anything from setting up last-minute dinner reservations and coordinating domestic and international travel logistics to planning proposals, Super Bowl parties or world tours for high-profile clients. Her passion for travel has only grown throughout the years, as she is often found working in various cities around the globe, including 18 countries and counting.

She has become a professional in navigating clients among various time zones, and is extremely passionate about her clients, putting 100% effort into everything she does, no matter how big, small, or “crazy” the ask might be. Her friends and family often joke and call her a “professional babysitter,” but her clients are never surprised when she quickly and efficiently creates solutions for their unique needs and challenges. They know she will always make their lives easier and less stressful, but more importantly that she cares about them as a person regardless of their fame, fortune, or freak athletic ability.

When she is not traveling, she is typically working from her home office in San Diego with her dog, Ghost, who rarely leaves her side.

My journey began when I was 16 years old, starting out on my first adventure of many, I looked out at the vast world beyond the comfort of my small town and knew that what lay ahead would change me completely. Since then, my wanderlust and curiosity has led me to explore different cultures, landscapes, and cuisines.

My passion for knowledge and adventure has opened my life up to amazing experiences ranging from deep relaxation in the Caribbean to adrenaline pumping adventure in Patagonia. As a travel advisor, I have made it my mission to help others discover the world and create their own unforgettable experiences.

I take great pride in helping people plan their dream trips and providing them with advice and support to ensure they have a safe and memorable journey. My goal is to continue exploring the world and to inspire others to do the same, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

My passion for travel began at an early age with wanderlust parents who understood the importance of broadening minds & opening hearts through world travel.

I’ve explored Africa, South America, Europe, Mexico and across the US. I believe in supporting local restaurants & small business and will always create an authentic cultural experience while traveling to new destinations. I am scuba diving certified and passionate about protecting our oceans and wildlife. Mountains and beaches are my happy place.

For over 20 years, I've organized community & corporate events for tech companies and nonprofits in the Bay Area. By combining my knowledge & passion for travel with corporate event planning, I’m able to create full-service luxury experiences for clients and groups of all ages. I want to spend my days either on vacation or planning one so let me plan your next big adventure!

Greetings, I am Sharon. Born in the foggy streets of London and raised amidst the windswept plazas of France, the sun-drenched hills of Italy, and the tulip-lined canals of the Netherlands, my wanderlust was ignited from a young age.

And so began my descent into the addiction of travel. I have traversed more than sixty lands, many of them more than once, and have developed a particular fondness for those destinations suffused with warmth, humidity, and tropical delights.

I am driven by my passion, and it is my joy to imbue my clients with that same fervor and craft for them a journey of a lifetime, each and every time.
