“The trip was fantastic! We loved it so much. It was the perfect balance between city travel and tropical/island travel. THANK YOU so much for the beautiful bottles of prosecco/champagne you sent to the rooms! That was so generous of you. We really appreciated being able to relax with a glass of bubbles on our arrival. 🙂
As for feedback, here’s what we thought:
Charleston
Zero George was a standout. The room was perfect and exactly the historic setting we were looking for. Great attention to detail for atmosphere, etc. I would highly recommend it. The restaurant tasting menu was some the best food and wine we’ve ever had. We also went to the cooking class they offered with the chef and had a beautiful 3 course lunch as well. The included daily breakfast was a cut above as well.
NYC
1hotel was the absolute perfect location for us. We used the subway stop next to the hotel all day long. It was so easy and a huge selling point for this city visit. The room was really comfortable and had a nice vibe. The restaurant was terrific. I was really happy with the menu options for lunch/breakfast. (we didn’t get there for dinner because of the timing of the shows) The food was also a cut above. I also really liked the decor.
Barbados
The House – perfect location on the island. I never felt like anything was too far away. The beach was really pretty and quiet. It was also right next door to the property’s shared water toys and water taxi, so that was really convenient. (full disclosure, we didn’t have time to use the water toys, but if we did it would have been really great!) The sand/water was really clean and lovely. We spend our last day there just lying on the beach and floating in the water. It was great. I know you said the food might not amazing, but we were really happy! The breakfast/lunch options exceeded expectation. The Daphne’s (connected to the hotel) was a really solid italian place with excellent service. We also had stellar dinners at Tides (our favorite) and The Lone Star. It was definitely way more of a food scene there than I expected. The room was lovely, gorgeous view. The bathroom kind of needed an update.
St. Lucia
Anse Chastenet was really cool. It was really beautiful to be tucked up on the cliffs in the jungle. Amazing views. Excellent suggestion to put us in a beach front room. That was great to be so close to the water, since that was our main focus for 3 days – sitting on the beach. It would have been exhausting going up and down those stairs all day. We were happy to trade a room view for convenience, since we were dining in the up stairs area for breakfast and dinners. So we had plenty of opportunity for taking in the views.
Overall, I would say that this place was a little more rustic than we expected. We had great time, but I kinda of feel like the whole property needs some updating. We kept losing power on and off throughout the stay. Once during the night and it got uncomfortable to sleep with out AC. And during the day and we weren’t able to order blended drinks and certain menu items because the kitchen didn’t have power. That was kind of a bummer. The food was delish, we loved that they have an entire vegan menu option for dinner. That was refreshing. The snorkeling on the beach was awesome, some of the best we’ve seen and so great that it was right in front of the hotel.
We had such a great time. Thank you so much for planning this for us! Let me know if you have anything else you are curious about/questions. Happy to discuss.
Thanks again!”
